Language Cert International Exam ESOL (Listening, Reading, Writing) – the “Written Exam”

Language Cert International Exam ESOL (Listening, Reading, Writing) is usually known as the ‘written exam’.

 

The exam is a delightful experience, filled with engaging language tasks that reflect real-life situations. Candidates get to write letters to friends, express their thoughts, listen to captivating stories, or read intriguing news articles. These tasks, among others, make the exam an enjoyable and dynamic experience. It’s worth noting that the complexity of the tasks varies depending on the qualification level.

 

The exam is available in two modes: paper-based and computer-based.

 

The written exam comes with a variety of benefits:

 

It is a student and teacher friendly exam that requires just little exam-related preparation. The duration of the exam is about 2.5 hours based on the level of qualification. The test has a flexible pattern:

 

Both listening and reading sections contain 26 questions, while the writing section consists of 2 tasks.

 

All the questions in the listening and reading sections and both tasks of the written section are equal.

 

The passing score is at least 50% total in all sections. There are no limits per section.

 

Language Cert Certificate in the international English language for the speakers of other languages is awarded to the candidates who get successful.

 

Assessment Rules for the Written Exam:

 

The Language Cert International ESOL suite of examinations is closely linked to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) created by the Council of Europe. The Written Exam is carefully evaluated based on the specified criteria set by CEFR. When it comes to grading, there are three possible outcomes: High Pass, Pass, or Fail. These designations are used to evaluate performance and determine success. Let’s take a closer look at what each grade represents.

Language Cert International Exam ESOL (Speaking) – the “Spoken Exam”

 

Language Cert International ESOL (Speaking) qualification exam is usually called the “Spoken Exam”.
The speaking exam is really enjoyable to take as they have to conversate with a Language Cert Examiner in a guided activity, the interlocutor does not evaluate the candidate. The talk is on various interesting issues, for instance inviting your friend to the cinema, talking about their interests or having an argument related to a particular viewpoint. The tasks may vary according to the level of the test takers.

 

The spoken exam comes with a range of benefits:

 

It is a friendly exam between the student and the teacher and therefore it doesn’t require any preparation that is specific for exam.

 

The duration of the test is 15 minutes that depends on the level of qualification. There is an individual interview for the ease and comfort of students. The passing marks are 50%. Language Cert Certificate in International English for speakers of Other Languages (speaking) is awarded to the candidates who qualify the exam.

 

Evaluation Criteria for the Spoken Exam:

 

The evaluation criteria of the Language Cert International Certificate ESOL body of the examinations is at the same page with the levels of Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) designed by the European Council. The spoken test is very carefully evaluated according to the CEFR specific criteria. The awarded grades will be either High Pass, Pass, or Fail.
